Mango is a Dutch Harness Horse Mare
Mango is a beautiful, registered Dutch Harness Horse mare, 5 years old (foaled July 2021). She is a Chestnut with a splash of white on her left flank. She stands 15 hands tall and weighs about 1100 pounds. She was trained by Raymond Helmuth, who competes with her half-brother, Kendro, at the National Driving Competitions. Alex Fraser entered her at the Fraser School of Driving Summer Fun Training Show in Deer Lodge, Montana. They entered Hors Concours, meaning the horse and driver take part in the class for experience or training purposes and are not judged for ribbons. Mango had never experienced this type of event before and did beautifully. She had never been through a Water Hazard and was hesitant at first, but after a couple of crossings, she learned what was expected of her and did very well.
She has a sweet personality, a curious mind, is smart, easy to work with, she cross ties, travels, loads well, bathes, and shoes easily. She has had lots of groundwork with tarps, pedestal, Cavaletti, and has been driven on a two-wheel and four-wheel carriage. She is being ridden under Dressage training now. She would make someone a wonderful competitive driving mare.
We are listing this horse on our website because we were impressed with her. The owner hasn’t driven her much since last year and would like her to go to someone who will enjoy her. The owner said, “Mango is a very sweet mare, and I have done tons of groundwork with her. She is smart, curious, and has a calm temperament. She loves attention, and I feel I am wasting her talents by not being able to spend more days driving her. At my age of 75, I just don’t have the energy anymore.”
We believe she will make a wonderful competition horse for someone. She moves like she is floating on a cloud. Very beautiful!
$15,000 (but we may negotiate with the right person). Mango is in Nevada at this time.
See the videos of her at the Fun Show.
Water Hazard This was Mango’s first experience with driving through water. I had to laugh watching her try to jump it – but this just shows how willing she is to learn.
